My blog PR Warrior has been running continuously from 2007 and until 2026. I started it initially as a place to explore trends in media, marketing and communications, and what they meant for people running businesses and organisations.
I was running my own 7-figure brand communications agency at the time, which we sold some 18 months later to a large publicly-listed company specialising in media and communications.
This blog changed my professional life in many ways,
In the late 2000s, I was well known in the Australian PR industry, but less so in broader business circles.
Starting PR Warrior (and being active on Twitter early days) changed all that. Being a pioneering blogger and active social media participant built my reputation and raised my profile. This in turn led to speaking engagements (free to start with, then paid gigs once I secured an agent), TV interviews, interviews in major metropolitan press, and collaborations with major brands (yes, I was an influencer well before the word even existed).
I also helped me to land a book deal with one of the world's most prestigious business book publishers, Wiley.
